FAQ
1. Do i need prior experience?
No experience necessary, we offer classes for the complete beginner but also offer classes and opportunities through to expert.
2. Do i need to sign up to a full membership?
We offer a 4 week pay as you go trial before you decide whether to commit to a membership via Direct Debit
3. What shall i wear?
For trial classes we recommend that you wear your own suitable dance wear/clothes that allow movement. Check out our uniform page for more details on our uniform requirements for each class. If you decide to take up a membership with us, the schools uniform can be purchased direct from the website.
4.Can i join at anytime of the season or must i wait until a new term commences?
You can register your interest for a 4 week trial at anytime of the term, but dependant on the class capacity will depend on the waiting time for your trial. This will all be communicated from your enquiry. In most circumstances we will aim to offer you a trial within 4 weeks.
5. Whats the youngest age you cater for?
Children from the age of 2yrs regularly join the school in our Sunday morning Acrodance class. This is a parent and child taster class. Once children are toilet trained and confident to come alone, they will move up to our next classes.
6. I already attend another dance school, can i still join too?
In line with dance school etiquette, we would ask that you seek permissions from your current principal. Centre Stage aims to be as ethical as possible towards our fellow dance teachers and studios but equally believes in supporting all dancers in a varied training program.
7. I am a regular student but would like to join other classes elsewhere.
Again, in line with dance school etiquette, we would ask that you discuss this with your current principal. Centre Stage aims to support all our dancers in a varied training program and but would equally require a level of commitment to our events & training/rehearsal schedule which can sometimes cause clashes.
8. How are fees charged?
Your 4 week trial is paid via our app and charged as a one off fee. Thereafter fees are charged each month in advanced on a pro rata rate.
9. Do you run during the school holidays?
Centre Stage run for 42 weeks of the year closing for part of Easter, Summer and Christmas holidays generally inline with Derbyshire schools. Our closures can be found on our "Term Time" page on our website. We also offer holiday and half term day camps. Information n these can be found in our "Holiday clubs" page.
